Iraqi Cleric urges Islamic Countries to develop ties

An Iraqi Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi received the Pakistani ambassador to Iraq Sheikh Mazhar Nazir on Friday; during the meeting the Iraqi cleric urged Islamic countries to boost ties.

 Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – During the meeting which was held in grand Ayatollah's office in city of Najaf, Iraq on Friday, August 18, the Pakistani ambassador Sheikh Mazhar Nazir presented a brief report on the activities of their embassy in Iraq including attempts to develop mutual cooperation with the Iraqi government; he also praised the high position of the holy city of Najaf as a great religious hub in the Islamic world.

 

Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi receives Indian Ambassador

 

The top Shia cleric also welcomed the Indian ambassador and his accompanying delegation on Friday.

 

During the meeting, the Grand Ayatollah stressed developing ties between Iraq and India in different areas highlighting the geopolitical position of Iraq as well as the country's valuable resources.

 

The Indian ambassador also elaborated on their ongoing consular affairs in Iraq and thanked the senior cleric for his warm welcome.
